Cheque donation by Hirst Progressive Social Club

An Ashington social club has demonstrated that its support is no small beer when it comes to donating to charity.

For over 20 years the members of Hirst Progressive Social Club have donated money they have collected regularly on Sunday mornings to St Cuthberts Care to support our work with disadvantaged children throughout the region.

Their latest gift was a cheque for £1,000 which was handed over by the club's stalwart supporters to the charity's Fundraising Manager, Nicola Milne.

"We are very grateful that we are chosen to receive the kind donation from Club members year after year," said Nicola. "Every penny will go towards our community work to help deprived and disadvantaged children. The Club's support is really appreciated. Thank you."

Nicola received the cheque when she visited the Hirst Club on North Seaton Road by Treasurer, John Wrighton, and members of the committee.
