Tesco donation to Sunderland Open House

Volunteers at the Sunderland Open House project have received a little extra help from Tesco.

A trolley full of supplies has been donated by the store to the drop-in service, which opens weekly on Thursdays at St Mary's Church, Bridge Street. Tesco's Community Champion, Anne Edwards, brought the donation which included tea, coffee, biscuits and bread before being shown around the project by volunteers.

Open House Sunderland was set up through St Cuthberts Care's partnership with the local parish of St Mary's to provide food, sign-posting advice and a place to meet for people who have little or no money, are homeless or have social issues.
