Local people living in poverty in Stockton are so grateful to the volunteers who are running the drop-in café in St Cuthberts Church Hall.

Although the team of volunteers have only been together since December, people in need are already finding the Word of Welcome drop-in to be a valuable source of help, information and comfort.

One young guest told the volunteers how he had been without benefits for three weeks and was so grateful for the free food, the many friendly faces and the warm welcome he always got at the drop-in.

As well as enjoying free food and refreshments every Friday at Word of Welcome, guests can also find information on other local projects able to offer help and support and buy good quality, highly affordable, second-hand clothing from our 5p Bus.
