Guest rediscovers dancing joy at lunch club

A regular guest at Holy Cross Lunch Club has dusted off her dancing shoes after thinking she'd never dance again.

Mrs Peggy Readman has always loved dancing, but after suffering a stroke a few years ago and having both hips replaced she feared her dancing days were over.

However, the support and friendship of the other lunch club guests and volunteers – not to mention the prompt of the familiar tunes played each week - has given her a new lease of life and she now enjoys a little dance each time she visits Holy Cross for lunch.

"I look forward to Wednesday very much," said Peggy. "I'm very thankful for what I have and being able to come this lovely lunch club each week is the icing on the cake. I never thought I'd be able to dance again and wouldn't have done if the volunteers hadn't encouraged it."
