Guests at Worswick Welcome drop-in café are delighted that we can now visit the project every week with our new, larger 5p Bus.

Our bus has been a huge miss at Worswick Welcome while we searched for new drivers but, now our team is complete, we can be there every Friday with even more room for much-needed items on board.

Worswick Welcome provides food and friendship for some of the most vulnerable and needy people in the region, including those who are homeless or have little or no money. Being able to offer essential clothing from our 5p Bus is a vital addition to the welfare of many who visit the project.

The drop in café is run by volunteers and held in the parish hall at St Andrew's Church in Newcastle where parish priest, Fr Michael Corbett is equally delighted to welcome the bus back.

"There's no doubt the people who come to Worswick Welcome depend on the 5p Bus," said Fr Corbett.  "As the days and nights grow colder, I'm so pleased to know they will be a little more comfortable now that they can access essential clothing to keep them warm and dry."
