Packed programme for tea group

15 October 2013

One of the Tea on Thursdays gatherings

After a busy summer of activities, it will be busy-ness as usual for volunteers and guests at Ushaw Moor's Tea on Thursdays group in the coming months.

A packed programme got underway with a visit from a young singer from Ushaw Moor Secondary School. Seventeen-year-old Sophie Brown delighted everyone with her performance, singing songs from times gone by as well as a selection from more recent times. In no time at all toes were tapping, hands were clapping and guests were joining in.

Events still to come include a master class in flower arranging and a visit by the Fire Service who are coming to talk about fire safety in the home.

"We love to have something nice to look forward to!" said Erica, one of the tea group volunteers.
