Helpful advice served up with lunch

Guests at St Mary's Lunch Club

Lunch was served with some helpful advice at the latest gathering of guests and volunteers at St Mary's Lunch Club in Newton Aycliffe.

As well as enjoying their regular social time together, a delicious lunch and some fun activities, everyone was pleased to welcome Barbara Christie from The Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation (CISWO).

A number of the guests, both here and at other PACE projects in Durham, have close connections with those who have worked in the coal industry and Barbara was able to provide lots of useful information on the support CISWO is able to offer, including benefits advice and home visiting.

CISWO are one of many supportive organisations regularly invited to the lunch club to share advice, making sure those who attend don't miss out on any additional help available.
