Volunteers raring to get new lunch club underway

Lunch Club guests enjoying their meal

Keen volunteers are hardly able to contain their excitement at the opening of their brand new lunch club in Blackhall next week.

After visiting Vianney's Lunch Club in Hartlepool a few weeks ago, they feel really inspired and are raring to get their own project underway in St Joseph's parish hall on 20 November.

Every Wednesday, they will be welcoming people from the local community and helping everyone get to know each other. As well as serving a freshly prepared lunch and refreshments for their guests, the volunteers will be organising lots of fun activities to encourage people to mingle and make friends.

"We're all really looking forward to opening," said Maria, one of the lunch club volunteers. "We're all prepared and ready with our first few weeks of tempting menus planned, so all the volunteers can relax a bit and enjoy working together as a team. We can't wait to get started!"
