Countdown to new Bensham Lunch Club

20 November 2013

Alive Lunch Club volunteers with Tom Rooke and Meg Gilley

Alive Lunch Club in Bensham will welcome its first guests on 12 December and, as the countdown to opening day continues, volunteers will soon have one less item on their 'to do' list.

Food safety training is about to be the latest mission accomplished as Gateshead Council has kindly agreed to offer free places to all the volunteers on a training course to be held at St Chad's hall.

With training and all the other preparations well underway, the volunteers are really looking forward to welcoming people from the local area when they open. Each week, Alive Lunch Club will provide a friendly meeting place in the heart of the community for people to enjoy some social time with others as well as a delicious lunch.

Alive Lunch Club will be held every Thursday between 11am and 2pm at St Chad's church hall on the corner of Rawling Road and Westminster Street in Bensham. For more information on joining the lunch club or to ask about volunteering, ring 0191 4771428.
