Hand-knit toys and jumpers donated to the 5p Bus

Avid knitters around the region have been clicking away to produce some fabulous hand-made goodies for visitors to our 5p Bus.

A knitting circle in Cramlington has donated beautiful blankets; cute, woollen toys have arrived from a talented group of ladies in Kenton and a lady from Northumberland has produced gorgeous hand-knit jumpers, cardigans, hats and mitts for babies and children.

Pat Wellington started knitting for her twin sister's grandchildren, but once she started she found it hard to stop and soon found herself with items to spare.

"My sister suggested donating them to the 5p Bus and I thought that was a great idea, said Pat. "I knew there would be families and little babies who needed them and I'm glad I can help."

Thank you to everyone for sharing your creative talents for the benefit of others.
