Worswick Welcome
Every Friday, St Andrew’s Church Hall, in the heart of Newcastle city centre, opens its doors to provide a special haven for hundreds of people who are homeless or have mental health issues. Many are afraid, lonely or desperate and all of them have little or no money.
Each week, volunteers transform the hall into Worswick Welcome, a café-style drop-in dedicated to restoring pride, feeding people who are hungry and providing a safe, warm place for some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Volunteers provide a table service and a choice of free food from a varied menu.
