Teachers from St Cuthberts First School in Berwick with some of the donations

A whopping 30 large bags of donations have been delivered at our head office for our 5p Bus, coming all the way from the most northerly first school in our diocese.

The donation drive was arranged by the Mini Vinnies group at St Cuthberts First School in Berwick and all 85 of the school's pupils couldn't wait to get involved.

As well as lots of practical children's clothing the pupils also collected a number of toys – including buckets and spades for some summertime fun.

Delivered by the school's head teacher, Clare McGregor and Teaching Assistant, Linda Moffat, everything will be distributed on the 5p Bus to needy families and individuals around the region.

5p Bus Manager, Iris Boyd said, "I would like to say a really big thank you to all the pupils, who have worked very hard to collect as many items, and to Clare and Linda for delivering everything. Their thoughtful good deed will make so much difference to those who are finding it hard to make ends meet."
